Partial Dentures

When teeth are missing, the remaining ones can change position and drift into the surrounding space. Teeth that are out of position can damage tissues in the mouth and hurt your remaining natural teeth. A removable partial denture fills in the space created by missing teeth and brings out your beautiful smile. A partial denture helps you to properly chew food, and prevents your remaining natural teeth from moving. In addition, a partial denture will improve confidence by preventing premature aging because it provides support for lips and cheeks.

Other great benefits to having a partial denture:

  1. Incredible boost to your self-confidence
  2. Better support for your lips and cheeks
  3. Partial dentures can prevent changes to the bite
  4. Pressure on your other natural teeth is reduced

It is incredibly important to have a consultation with your Denturist before your treatment. As an experienced Denturist, Curtis Wiebe will meet with you to thoroughly discuss the selection of a denture that best suits your lifestyle.

The consultation appointment gives you the opportunity to express your concerns and desires for your new dentures. It also gives Curtis the opportunity to assess the intra and extra oral conditions present. Signature 28 professionals work hard to address your individual needs and exceed your expectations.

“Standard” dentures may fit comfortably, but are designed for the average patient using basic tooth shades, measurements, and shapes. “Standard” dentures are unable to achieve the natural appearance some patients desire. Every denture patient, especially those with oral tissues and bone which have resorbed (shrunk) or those who have unusual jaw relationships (bite), may require a custom “cosmetic” denture that utilizes premium materials and precision techniques.  Premium custom “cosmetic” dentures instil confidence and provide optimum function while eating, speaking, or laughing.

Curtis Wiebe is an SEMCD certified clinician and uses a revolutionary technique to achieve greater stability and suction in lower dentures. Candidates for lower suction dentures will enjoy the benefits of a bio-compatible denture with a superior fit.

Your Signature 28 Denturist can restore a broken or cracked denture to its original state. Repairs may be required when:

  • breakage or chipping occurs;
  • when one or more teeth need to be added to an existing denture (due to tooth extraction);
  • or because of regular wear and tear.

Yes, it could be that quick! Most repairs can easily be done in one day, through our in-house lab. If your denture requires a repair, it may be because of underlying problems, including age of the denture, worn teeth, poor fit, or poor bite.

A reline should be done on all full dentures on average every two years.  Your Signature 28 Denturist will remove some of the pink acrylic from the tissue side of the denture. The denture is then filled with an impression material, which conforms to the new contours of the tissues and sets a rubbery consistency. The denture will then contain an accurate impression of the shape of the gums.  It will then be taken to the lab, and the impression material is replaced with pink hard acrylic, in exactly the same shape as the new impression.  When returned, the denture now conforms to the contours of your mouth and should make maximum contact with the tissues producing maximum suction.

Rebasing a denture is similar to a reline except the denture comes back not only relined, but with ALL the pink acrylic above replaced.  The only parts of the old denture that remain after a rebase are the teeth.

A rebase is often done when the denture is labeled as unhygienic due to staining or multiple cracks and repairs. These can cause the denture not to fit well. However, the teeth themselves are still in good condition and fit correctly with the teeth in the opposite arch.  You will end up with a revitalized old denture.
